More about me
I had the privilege of working as a therapist at the Penn Foundation, a community behavioral health organization located in Sellersville Pennsylvania, for the first ten years of my career. I began my work in a program called Wrap Around, a service that partners with parents to develop effective behavioral responses for children struggling in school or at home. Later I worked in a program called Family Based Services, which is an intensive in-home family therapy program that focuses on helping at-risk children remain in the community setting. After that, I worked in the Mental Health Outpatient department, providing therapy for adults, teenagers, and young children--as well as couples and families.
One of the most enjoyable parts of my work involves partnering with community organizations in their efforts to address issues related to mental health. I am the developer and leader of a number of educational presentations and trainings for local schools, churches, and health-related groups. I provide education on a variety of topics including: suicide prevention; the impact of social media; stigma and mental illness; supporting families in crisis; understanding sex, gender, and sexuality; and more.
